In February 2025, after more than 15 years of hard work, the certification of the provincial (inshore) Argentine red shrimp fishery was finally obtained:
And in March 2025, Grupo Veraz was the first Argentine company to obtain the Chain of Custody (CoC) certification, which automatically allowed us to commercialise certified products.
On the other hand, the national (offshore) fishery's certification is in its final stages, and we're anticipating good news by 2026.

Grupo Veraz is one of the four founding partners of Rawson Ambiental S.A., a company created in compliance with the environmental ordinances of the province of Chubut and with the purpose of effectively and sustainably resolving the biological treatment and final disposal of industrial effluents.

SMETA
In 2023, Grupo Veraz achieved SMETA certification, now being part of SEDEX. SMETA stands for Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit. It is an international ethical and social audit that evaluates compliance with social responsibility principles in all the organization's processes.
Pesquera Veraz S.A and BONASUR in the city of Rawson, and Explotación Pesquera de la Patagonia S.A in Puerto Deseado have already certified the first 2 SMETA pillars (Health and Safety and Labor Standards), which focus exclusively on the rights and obligations of employees.
Upon the publication of our audit results on the SEDEX platform, our suppliers and clients can observe our level of transparency and access information about our social responsibility activities. This also allows us to provide our employees with the best possible practices for their daily work.
Both plants renew this certification annually.
